Day 1141 How about those dawgs?!

Heres the pack with clear coat on them to make them shine. Of course I put Zoe on the tallest salt shaker since she’s the smallest both in clay and in life.

Finally done with a clear coat of Golden’s soft gel medium cut half with water. Gives a nice shine to them.

L-r Wesley Susie Camie Zoe Chip Charlie Lucy Dog Livia and Grant. Honeys peeking out from the back row.

Made with fimo clay and a bit of sculpy. Aloe of kneeling, squeezing, and rolling with the rolling pin to get the clay soft. I had to add vegetable oil to some of the clay because it was too stiff.

Did I say I have a new appreciation for warm dishwater on hands that ache from all that kneeding?! Back to my baking.

Candy cane earrings that may or may not get finished before Christmas. Made by combining ropes of white and red clay and twisting and rolling flat.

After staying up late baking cheese straws and painting dogs I think I need a nap but guess that will have to wait til Saturday.

Margaret hohohoho who needs to wrap these puppies up!!

Day 1141 Kid practice.

One of my goals is to practice doing quick sketches of children. This is one of my grandson Henry that looks a lot like him. He’s a true wiggle worm often twisting himself up like a pretzel so it’s difficult to get a likeness even when he’s watching tv.

Another goal is trying to draw an image with a few lines. I used to use what is called a searching line which is actually multiple lines. Now I try to use a few lines. Sometimes with success sometimes a mess.

L-R Chip, Honey and Wesley.

Three more dogs in need of paint. Two more to do then Santa is done.

A lot of baking too. Mincemeat tarts aka deliciousness.

Making my oh so adorable grandkids their brindle Lucy dog.

Lucy mostly lays around keeping watch but loves to play fetch. I need to paint this one. As soon as I decide what to do about messing up her name. Oops.

I have drawn the grandkids several times lately. This one is my favorite.

Day 1138 Santa’s Busy

So posting a picture of what she’s up too. Making fimo polymer clay dogs for Christmas presents. They will both be pit bulls after they are baked and will be a present for their mom. The one on the right is our old JRT Charley. Zoe said she wanted one too. 🤗🎅🏻 This is the brown one Livia. She still needs her muzzle darkened.

And her little brother Grant. The white one will get painted like him when it’s baked. Glad I gave him a big black nose. It was white. What was ms. Santa thinking?! 😱

Back to my chocolate chip cookie baking. Hohoho Margaret xoxoxo

Day 1137 ITs oFFicIaL it’s Saturday!

Thanks for all the follows and likes. More than 200 new followers in the last week. THANK YOU!!!

Emily. Thought she was a disaster but that changed.

18×24″ For Sale!! Email me If she needs to come stay at your house.

Saturday mornings when I am in town aka Augusta a bunch of us get together at USCAiken and draw a model. Today was sweet quieter Emily.

First break

I had new paper Blicks Bristol. It was NOT kind to the paint(or the painter!!😱) at first. It wicked up the watercolor. IMPOSSIBLE to soften an edge. Like the worst nightmare of using hot press paper which is notorious for making a mess of a your best attempts at a painting. I would put on some paint and it looked horrendous. Look at the painting at the first break. Eeekkk. Was all that I could think.

I thought about starting over AGAIN on some Canson Mi Teinte paper but after consulting with Miss Katie I started slathering on paint. Attacking with a 2″ flat – Cheap Joes Golden Fleece. The painting was looking up.

first sketch maybe 25 minutes.

I kept adding pure color with little water because it would not budge once you put it on. Sometimes I added a lot of water on the palette. Not how I usually paint.

Usually putting on a lot of paint and washing it out on the paper a la Charles Reid.

At the end I added smears is white gouache I borrowed from Tom and went over it again with my 6b lead.

Al said it was one of my best. I think he might be right.

Day 1135 It’s Done

Enterprise Mill SOLD!!

Always good to finish a commission. I should have had this done but they wanted it before Christmas. I buckled down yesterday and finished it. Yeah. Now to deliver it today.

Enterprise is a lovely old mill in downtown Augusta that had been rehabbed into efficiency apartments that have a lot of the old mill incorporated into them to retain the character.

I have been told that the Augusta Canal runs under it to because it used to provide power to the mill. very interesting old building which includes a museum. I need to go sometime.

Another busy day. Margaret xoxoxo

I spent a couple of hours drawing in Harmony Plaza the center of Oakhurst Decatur. Kids are so hard to draw. They never hold still. Constantly on the move. The kids love the large yellow sculpture which they use as a jungle gym. Where all the kids on it at the same time?! Nope. One of them made the drawing twice.
