These are drawn with watercolor pencil but backgrounds are painted with my size 10 da Vinci kolinsky sable. They are postcard sized. This one was especially hard to part with. Love her sassy stare.

The squirrel was done with the paint brush. A size 10 da Vinci kolinsky sable. My favorite brush. Only four colors. Burnt sienna cerulean. Cad yellow and mineral violet splatters.

I have one more about half done. Still needs a background. I actually draw them while looking at them googling their primo Seeds on my porch.

A double winner. A goldfinch and a downy woodpecker. I bought that feeder just so the down would enjoy it. A red wing blackbird came by to try it out too.

Finally done I think. Hmm still not signed. Took all my friends critiquing her to get her to the finish line. And a scrubber. Eek

Her face was just bugging me after I finished the background. Did NOT like. Knew it was off but not quite how.

Thanks to my friend Ruth I lifted some. Scrubbed and blotted some. Moved her left eye down a smidge. Her mouth up a bit and the nose over and she was done.

No wait I dropped the hairline 1/8 of an inch. I know she’s a bit blurry but I do t think it matters since these go in the heap wth the rest of the nudes. One day maybe I will give them clothes so.

I broke my own first lifemodeling rule. NEVER draw a head less than four inches. One given to me by Charles Reid and works well. Anything smaller becomes hard to paint.

Next time I draw the divine e Miss Kate I will being a full sheet. Not like I don’t have a stack of it.

The SC State capitol with the crowds on Main Street in downtown Columbia nicknamed Cola which is why this every Saturday event is called Soda City.

Super fun event. All kinds of vendors. Requirement all things must be made in SC. Huge crowds. 7000 or so every week year round.

Who knew this went on. Wish it was here in Augusta.

I think this is an old Greyhound station. Will look great painted.

A great restaurant I ate at on Gervais in Columbia. For a sketch that went down the tubes when I added one too many people it looks pretty good.

Amazing shrimp and grits plus an old fashioned. Super waitress. Yummm. Deliciousness.

Seems as if I am drawing a lot of birds lately. This is a 300# cp kilamanjaro postcard. One of the freebies we get at Cheap Joes classes in Boone.

Based on a wren photo I took out Mikes back window when I was in Raleigh.

Number two. Actually like this one better. I did a terrible ink sketch first and kept correcting it. Not getting better but decided to see how the wc pencils would work to cover the ink. Now my fav. Funny how things change.

Gel pen and white inktense pencil. Thought about digging out gouache but being lazy.
