This still needs work. Meant to do it today but went to Lion King instead. It was almost standing room only. The cgi was amazing. The animals looked so real.
And still haven’t decided if this is done. Maybe there’s too much yellow background?! Seemed like a good idea except I don’t seem to like one solid color. Will have to think about this.
When I was home I spent a lot of time looking for a sketch of Kate I did a while back. Finally found it in the FIRST palace I looked. And I looked there several times. How did I miss it. Now to get Miss Kate painted. Time is running OUT!!
Margaret who has to watch the first Fantastic Beasts so I can figure out what was going on in the second one. Of course I find all the cgi highly entertaining. Xoxoxo
You would be surprised to see what you can get drawn in line at a chic fil a. The line during lunch moves so slowly though they try their best to make it move quickly. Sooner or later I bet there will be a wreck between impatient customers waiting in those lines.
I was stopped in line when I drew the cars in roughly. And the stop sign the trees girl in the stand. That line took quite a while. As I was heading to home aka getting my food I was done.
Noodler brown Ink Lamy Ef hahnemuhle journal which is almost full.
At the High Art Museum in Atlanta is fantastic. Each painting a jewel.
Degas My favorite in the whole show.
According to Phillips the best landscape painter ever. I concur. Oskar Kokschka
Bonnard a Charles Reid fav and mine.
Another very large Bonnard
Poussin A Fav since college and evidently a Phillips fav
Daumier Such expression and energy 1848
Degas and his dancers I would keep it!!
A wonderful but dark Matisse Mad Fauvist that he was
Caezamne self portrait often compared to Rembrandts as well it should be. Powerful
Monet incredible ethereal to thinly eh great man touched this canvas
Van Gogh never met one I wouldn’t keep. If only I had been at his funeral I could have gotten one free.
So if anyone has a spare $100000000 would you buy one for me please especially the orange Degas. I have just the wall for it.
In the meantime I will drool over the show catalog and postcards from it.
Hurry and go. This exhibit is just marvelous like a who’s who in European Art from 1800 – 1930. Every one a show stopper and this is just a fraction of show. Ends July 14. I hope to make it back there soon.
Finally painted this. The hahnemuhle paper was a trial. Couldn’t lift any of the alizarin which is a staining color. I should have fished out my other pink for a change of color. Oh well. It’s just in the sketchbook.
Earlier. Mike reminded me to loose some edges Which I did try to do. Not easy on the hahnemuhle paper.
I think that’s why I need a Charles Reid class every year. A refresher class. Lol.
Guess this year will have to make do with the video since he’s only teaching three times a year now. 😢
The sketch.
Maybe a do over in real watercolor paper. What do you think??!
These guys were great especially the violinist. He played an amazing electric violin. I told him that if I played violin like he did I might still be playing it.
You can buy his music on his website. Oh my gosh and he makes crocheted art too with old plastic bags made into plarn. WOW!! And yes he sells them. Way cool.
These guys were jamming their hearts out down on the Decatur square. I left them a nice tip for holding still long enough for me to draw them.
Watercolor sooner or later.
Margaret worn out from all her errands today. Xoxoxo
At least for the monenbt. You never know. It’s subject to change right?! Until it’s framed.
At the end of class. Pallet colors same as Vld said to use. Mostly neutral tint cad red light cad yellow and cobalt today.
Thinking tomorrow or Thursday will try the beach scene we did the sepia sketch of. Lost my focal point but I can fix it in the final one. Should have been in the middle.
Like this one. Sigh.
Think I will draw the scene while I listen to tv. Lol. Can’t watch and draw right.
Spent half the day looking for paint. How can I be out of cobalt van dyke brown AND dioxzine purple. This method of painting uses shovel loads of paint. Need to buy the BIG tubes not the 16″5 oz. shoulda added to my Blick order. Sigh.
I ordered these during class Sunday and here they are already.
I did get a set of Escoda perla brushes from amazon because I could NOT get my black velvets to dry brush. They split.
Escoda perla 8,10,12 from top to bottom
If the perlas are good enough for Vlad, Iain Stewart and Joseph Zbukiv they are good enough for me. Suppose to make great calligraphic marks as well as do sweeping dry brush effects. Not a bad deal $30 for and 8 10 and a 12 travel brush Escoda perla Joseph Zbukiv Brand.
Homework from class. I couldn’t stand the tension of watching the battle this week in Game of Thrones. Eyes on paper. Eeekkk. Glad that episode is over.
Line practice
More homework from class. Supposedly if u draw two dots keep your pencil on left for eye on right dot you should get straight lines. Thinking not something to do during game of thrones or after four cups of high caffeine tea. Lol.
Margaret who has to make her clean bed first before she draws the scene so I can practice trees with my new brushes. Bet they will work on rocks too. Xoxoxo
