Fly away to Old Havana

Old town Havana Paint along with Vladislav Yesileyev. Fabriano 300 lb rough paper which I have decided I now hate. It kept holding edges. Put paint on and there was a hard edge. What the heck. It’s not suppose to do that at $16 a sheet. This is a half sheet.

The photo

Vlad’s value sketch.

The drawing and what a pain it was.

First washes just three colors yellow ochre alizarin and cobalt blue.

Midtones. Adding I burnt sienna neutral tint dioxzine purples cad orange.

Adding darks. Burnt sienna burnt umber ultramarine vandyke brown

Almost there.

Done doe now. Who knows what it will tell me in the am?!

Margaret tired of looking at it.

Lovely brushwork….The soft values appeal to me…not to mention a desire to Travel to Cuba and beyond. Alexis

Thanks. I was having a longing to go to Havana. Perfect time of the year for the tropics. Blue skies would cheer us up wouldn’t they? Stay safe. Miss you!
