Day 2124 Across the street

Can’t decide if I like this one better painted or not. Maybe is my verdict. Painted w my tiny whiskey painters box and a waterbrush.

Lamy vista noodler eelskin Ink.

Also used my red watercolor pencil on it. Think it always perks a sketch up.

Margaret heading back to Decatur for a birthday party this weekend and a trip to the puppet show. My name is Margaret and WHERE do I live?!! Xoxoxo

Day 2123 Lazy front porch morning

Last day in Decatur being lazy on the front porch drinking tea and drawing lazy Lucy dog on the porch.

Lamy Ef to paint or not is the question.

Margaret on the last episode of stranger things. Too much excitement!! 😳😳😳😳xoxoxo

Day 2119 Van Gogh did NOT commit suicide

Auvers Van Goghs Blue Church on the hill my version

But I knew that.

Auver from the Oise River Bridge. Ravouxs Auberge (Inn) where Van Gogh died on far left

This article based on a forensic analysis of his death says otherwise.

Van Goghs famous blue church

Of course I can’t get to my sketchbook and share a map of Auvers. It’s in Augusta and I am not.

Go on a Viking Seine River cruise in the winter and they will take you to Auvers since Monets Giverny near Normandy closes in October.

Day 2118 Out the window

My favorite kind of urban sketching sitting in the AC looking out a window. Don’t like to sweat. Lamy Vista Noodler Eelskin Ink. Superaquabee sketchbook.

This street has some awesome bungalows on it so great sketchable views out all its huge windows.

Tip: turn the pen upside down to make finer lines.

Day 2110 High Museum of Art European Masters

Taking a sketchbreak after going to see the European Masters from Phillips in DC. sad to see it go.

There are three large statues n the lobby of the High with benches to sit on in between.

Since I wanted focus on the one of the left I drew it in a lot more detail than I did the others farther away.

Day 2103 Another Day Another window

You would be surprised to see what you can get drawn in line at a chic fil a. The line during lunch moves so slowly though they try their best to make it move quickly. Sooner or later I bet there will be a wreck between impatient customers waiting in those lines.

I was stopped in line when I drew the cars in roughly. And the stop sign the trees girl in the stand. That line took quite a while. As I was heading to home aka getting my food I was done.

Noodler brown Ink Lamy Ef hahnemuhle journal which is almost full.

Day 2102 Out the Window challenge

Somebody moved the chair or maybe it’s the morning light on the house next door but it makes an intriguing difficult to draw geometric.

Are the proportions right. Not quite but I think close enough. What do you think?

I even think it might make an interesting abstract painting.

Lamy Ef Noodlers brown Ink hahnemuhle journal which is already falling apart after a month of use. Annoying. Back to stillman and birn after this.

Margaret in Atlanta heading home soon. Xoxoxo

Day 2080 Drawing like

A crazed person

Deadline for Georgia Watercolor Show is June 10. It will be here soon.

Looking toward St Mcclou in Rouen Normandy France. Half sheet rough Fabriano 300#

This one took quite a while and still needs some people added to it. Remember you can add anyone if their heads line up with the dark dot which is the vanishing point on the horizon line. A tall guy could be a little higher but a shorter lady on that horizon line. By doing this you can add anyone into a painting even if they were never there.

Ps remember adding odd numbers of people is better than even. And assorted sizes would be more interesting.

Looking toward Van Goghs blue church in Auvers sur Oise France the town Van Gogh died in. Half sheet Fabriano rough 300#

Also where he’s buried just to the right of this church. Near the wheat field with all the crows that he painted. Too bad we didn’t make his funeral. His brother Theo gave everyone there one of his paintings if you wanted one! Not six months later Theo died and was buried next to Vincent.

All those wobbly 900 year old medieval buildings made it Difficult to sketch this. Add in all the gothic spires on St Maclou – well shoot me. So I gridded the photograph and the sketch. I used a light grey watercolor pencil on the drawing so hopefully it will melt away when I paint it tomorrow.

I also have to move the girl in the foreground either right or left. Broke one of the Dean of watercolor painters rules by sticking her in the middle. Never do that either. Drop in one or two more people and I am ready to painting this one too.

And I started the day off drawing at the dealership while I waited for my Prius’ check up. I am too lazy to get up and take a pic of those.

Stay tuned. Manana!

My evening visitor. Zoe did NOT like him a bit. I think he or she is kinda cute. Just a little small young raccoon.

Margaret putting her feet up for a well deserved rest Xoxoxoxo

Day 2078 Love the Asian

Statues. A bodhisatta and a Buddha. Can’t decide which one I like better. The curves of the bodhisatta or the sweet expression of the Buddha.

Day 2075 Back at the Museum

I loved these slightly primitive statues. So old.

Sketch in Deartrementis Brown with my Twisbee. The inks almost gone so next I will be using a Noodler Brown recommenced by Brenda Swenson.

Hahnemuhle journal yellow ochre cerulean cad red light cobalt burnt sienna ultramarine and a dab of quin gold.

I used a 2B pencil to write the info from the museum all over the background of this page to add texture and lightly erased it before I painted it.
