Hard to Tell where her one arm is. The next row poses looked better when I took the photos than what I remembered. Ayesha is a dancer and a hip hop artist.

And decided I liked this rather feral pose. The paint color is Daniel Smith hematite burnt scarlet which makes a great skin tone for African Americans.

Ayesha had a lot of trouble holding the poses. And would turn her head and talk. Not good in a model. Dress is Daniel Smith opera rose. The winsor newton version is fugitive.

A nice pose but the heads TOO big. Maybe I should just chop her head off.

The long pose was just odd. The model lay on the stage like a sausage whole another young lady painted her. Not my idea of a long pose. Too easy to draw in 30 min so I drew the young lady who was painting her several times. Wasn’t a bad painting but I gave it away and forgot to take a picture of them. Oopsey

Not a stellar night for me. She was An interesting model but sometimes you are just off. when I just dread the head it usually means I don’t like the pose. And I never got around to finish painting these. Shows how much I liked them. more interesting.

Can I blame my bad sketching on the fact that I was getting sick already?!

These are drawn with watercolor pencil but backgrounds are painted with my size 10 da Vinci kolinsky sable. They are postcard sized. This one was especially hard to part with. Love her sassy stare.

a sweet squirrel. Makes me smile. A bossy cardinal. They can be quite bossy. Stan on the back porch rail and act like where is the seed LaDy?!

The squirrel was done with the paint brush. A size 10 da Vinci kolinsky sable. My favorite brush. Only four colors. Burnt sienna cerulean. Cad yellow and mineral violet splatters.

I have one more about half done. Still needs a background. I actually draw them while looking at them googling their primo Seeds on my porch.

A double winner. A goldfinch and a downy woodpecker. I bought that feeder just so the down would enjoy it. A red wing blackbird came by to try it out too.

Finally done I think. Hmm still not signed. Took all my friends critiquing her to get her to the finish line. And a scrubber. Eek

Her face was just bugging me after I finished the background. Did NOT like. Knew it was off but not quite how.

Thanks to my friend Ruth I lifted some. Scrubbed and blotted some. Moved her left eye down a smidge. Her mouth up a bit and the nose over and she was done.

No wait I dropped the hairline 1/8 of an inch. I know she’s a bit blurry but I do t think it matters since these go in the heap wth the rest of the nudes. One day maybe I will give them clothes so.

I broke my own first lifemodeling rule. NEVER draw a head less than four inches. One given to me by Charles Reid and works well. Anything smaller becomes hard to paint.

Next time I draw the divine e Miss Kate I will being a full sheet. Not like I don’t have a stack of it.
