Day 63 A miscount

Never was my forté. It’s day 63 not 62. Oh I drew with Vlad yesterday. Threw my count off. This needs paint. Not sure what color. I know it needs a background. Maybe I need to record my adventure at Lowe’s. I think everyone in Augusta was there. I have never seen so many people at Lowe’s as there were at this one Wednesday. But I like my jade tree. So healthy. Maybe I can keep it that way.

This one is done. Finally realized I had one more roof to paint – the small one to the right of the smaller red barn. Now I LOVE the painting. Odd what one roof can do.

Yesterday before I painted the third roof. It was still competing and distracting from the center of attention aka focal point the roof of the smaller barn. Now to sign in.

Day 60 Cambridge NY

The Barn in Cambridge. Oddly enough the birthplace of my hero Charles Reid. Paint along with Vlad Yesilesev yesterday. I do wish I had kept my Transparent colors on the shadowed bits of the barn but oh well. Fav but the orange one on the right. Like its glow. Think I will lift some of the purple on the roof of the big barn.

The sketch

Vlads value sketch. I didn’t take a pick of mine yet. Oops

First wash.

Trees. Lots of dry brushing.

Hmm no idea is this one done?!

And here it is done again. lol.

This is Vlads. Already sold or you could buy it for $400.

Margaret looking forward to painting the Roofs of Prague on Sunday. It’s my new thing I guess Xoxoxox

Day 59 My White Amaryllis

And a quote from Reese Witherspoon. This white amaryllis has been blooming steadily for SIXTY days one stalk at a time. Thought I should commemorate its swan song. It has consistently shown up to do the work of blooming. Third year it has come back to bloom.

I journaled a bit about the amaryllis in pencil and painted it faintly in the background on the right page.

Namiki Fude Eelskin Black Ink

A sweet fat cardinal wallowing in bird seed on the back deck.

Margaret who is Tahred again. Xoxoxox.

Day 57 Sat= recipes

Especially when I have another pile of facemasks to sew. Thank goodness they are done. 36 so far.

My favorite bread recipe. So good. Saw Martha make these last Sunday on cbs Sunday Morning Show. Looked too delicious so I wrote the recipe down but think I would sub raisins and cranberries. I have plenty of those. Thought these sounded good til Martha showed me hers. I do like a good oatmeal cookie. And I am quite fond of keeping a large bowl of this kind of salad in the fridge. Did I remember to get cucumbers NOPE. Trip to the store required. With a mask of course.

Day 53 A Day in Havana

vlads photo.Paint along with Vladislav Yesileyev.

the value sketch

First wash Always a tense moment.

Adding more shadows and what about that old Buick?! My dad had a thing for Buicks.

Well that was fast. Almost done.

Making progress but that grill is ginormous.

Done for today but think I will add a bit of white gouache to the figures to set them off aka light on the shoulders and head.

Margaret who once again is Tahred. Xoxoxo

Day 47 A quick trip to Florida

To the Forgotten Coast in other words another paintalong with Vlad.

The sketch. Tough drawing on that rough press Paper. First wash. Very light.

middle tone wash.

Painting on the kitchen table. Watched the class on Zoom on my iPad.

I did catch a sbsdrawingparty with Koosje but I need to flatten it to take a pic so tomorrow.

Margaret who’s Tahred now. Xoxoxo

Day 46 some urban sketching and drawing mugshots

Always enjoy drawing mugshots with Danny at today’s sbsdrawingparty.

Here’s the culprit. Namiki Fude. Love the way it turned out.

Urban sketching at the post office in Evans when I went to drop off mail in the outside box.

A cute Boston Bull who patiently waited with her dad while we all did a curbside pick up with Augusta locally grown.

Darn this is the shoe that kicked my beloved flip flop Out. I forgot to chronicle it. Guess I better fix that. Traveling shoe part 2

Day 44 A Day in Provence with Vlad

Did a paint along with Vlad Yesilesev today. He will be doing some more. Think it’s a great format that lets what he says sink in. And you get a copy of the class to download. Some dummy didn’t get that 911. They expire after a couple of days. OPPPSEY. I Will do it this time. Using a 2B mechanical pencil we all do a value sketch under his tutelage. Lots of squinting.

Light washes of yellow ochre cobalt and dioxzine and alizarin.

First wash. Oopsey. Always leave holidays and then duh go back and repaint. That does NOT work on damp watercolor. You get blooms.

And opps forgot to take more photos duh. Next time.

Hugs Margaret. Xoxoxoxo

Day 42 – From the corner of my sofa

The Days drawijngs. Draw your weekend plans. Not much planned but cooking and art. Still getting over my bronchitis. Blue uniball pen and watercolor pencils. I stumbled across Morgan from Sketchbookskool drawing love today. Memories of home.

Soooo of course I had to draw the huge red Maple in my front yard. The beaver ate the one thatwould have been on the right side of the house. The maple Is three stories tall!!

Namiki fude pen lent itself well to this drawing. Title page of my first journal book filled in a record three weeks. The skeletons came from Juliana Coles when I bought my pirate cat painting frim her. Love the skeleton.

And me playing at drawing myself as an Egon Schiele sketch. Alwaus loved his ink drawings. Namiki Fude again.

Margaret ready for bed. Busy day again tomorrow. Xoxoxo

Day 36 entertainment never

Stops around here. Took another paintalong with Vlad Yesileyev. Maybe I will like this better tomorrow.

Vlads. Better pic on Fb tomorrow.

For some reason I seem determined to cross every t and dot every eye though I have known from freshman art that’s a no no.

My value study.

Loved his explanations that surround it.

Use the biggest brush you can.
Heads are on the horizon line.
Start drawing and painting in the middle.
We are not cameras. We don’t see everything. We focus on what we think is important.
    Give an accident a chance.
Use your eraser too much you are an illustrator.
  • First sketch. I had to eliminate quite a few things.
  • First wash now that it’s been thinned out.
  • Coming along. is Vlads.
  • Margaret who need a nap now or to go to bed.
