🔘Now about that picture. A remembrance of our adventure at the Center for the Puppetry Arts a big hit with Henry and I. The troupe does an amazing job. Extremely professional and a very well done show.

The painting is done with Ted Nuttalls transparent palette in my Stillman and Birn Alpha drawn with one of my Lamy’s.

The museum is incredible. A great Jim Henson section. Yes Kermit and Miss Piggy are there. And the Fraggles. Historical puppets from around the world. Indian shadow puppets. l Lots of interactive child friendly exhibits.

A Chines puppet I think. Scar from Lion King. The large puppets from War Horse.

Just a great place. Henry wanted to go again and see the Gingerbread Boy show. We should have. So much easier than Fernbank.

Put the Center for the Puppetry Arts on your must see Atlanta list. You will love it. Ask Henry!!

Margaret xoxoxox whose excited about WordPress Discover!! Yeah

Day 1153 Make that 502!!

Pretty exciting news to me. I would like to thank and welcome all my new followers. Did I did I do that already!? Probably but hey thanks again!!

And did I say Happy New Year!!!

So time to post some art. This is Peachtree about the 1400 block right near the Center for the Puppetry Arts. Not yet painted. I was on my easy from Aam Flaxs to Dick Block/Utrecht store.

What color there is was done with a tea bag. Had no idea it would color it so much just painting. If it gets too soupy it will run thru the binding in my Stillman and Birn but then so will watercolor.

Another blank page colored with my teabag. Kinda fun. Try it.

Margaret whose getting three free hours and a babysitter so I gotta run.

Happy New Years and thanks again for all the follows. Hugs xoxoxo

Day 1101 Inktober oops

I don’t think I ever posted this one. I need to sit down and paint more than the dogs. Double page spreads can be so time consuming and I have several to paint.

Working on a quilt with a definite finish date in mind -asap so painting taking a back seat for the moment.

This is the old Medical College of Georgia building on Telfair where the Medical school started. When it was restored in the 1980s thousands of bones were found in the basement left behind from cadavers stolen from the local black cemeteries picked up by our own Resurrection Man – Grandison Harris who got an article in the Smithsonian Magazine .

I recently listened to a fascinating audible book named Resurrectionist by Matthew Guinn about a similar character in Columbia SC at a medical school there. His other book about Atlanta post Civil War was also great.

Drawn on watercolor board with a Lamy EF Ted Nuttalls watercolor palette.

Margaret off in the rain to get her haircut. Hmm that should be frizzy. Xoxoxo

Day 1130. An oops

Can you figure out where I messed up?! The tall guy on the right. No idea how I did that. Thinking of painting over him with watercolor ground and having a redo.

As it is it’s unusable and I really like the rest of it. We shall see. So aggravating.

Day 1118 – that iconic view

Wish we had some views like this in Augusta. Sigh.

Every time I go to Trader Joe’s on Monroe I always stare at it for a few minutes.

It’s looking over the Grady High football field toward Piedmont Park.

Those tall buildings never fail to fascinate.

Day 1114 one more Starbucks.

These two guys were just chatting away in Chinese or Korean. Could have been Japanese for all I know. Their conversation was very animated. The guy on the right actually noticed I was drawing. He was really sweet and asked me if I had finished before he left.

Day 1113 – Urban sketching at Starbucks

Really pleased with the way this one turns out. Don’t know why I didn’t post it sooner. I had a lot of trouble with pens. Four in my purse and NO ink in any of them. How is that possible. Met some friends at the new Starbucks on Bobby Jones.  Really nice BIG Starbucks. I drew the people in front of me. Some walked off some walked in.

The cars were a lot of fun to draw. Next time I am drawing my Prius in the painting lol. Artist car 🚗 self portrait.

Even like the way the crepe Myrtle turned out. I painted the whole thing wet in wet letting the colors melt into each other.

Day 1110 Henry

Snacking on goldfish when we went to Oakhurst park. This was a very quick sketch. Have you ever treed drawing a five year old who never stops?! But Henry loved the idea of me drawing him. He tried to hold still. That lasted about a second.

Day 1103 Blind contours

Our three old Jack Russells – Charlie the best jack russell ever til Zoe, Jazz Manic feature and Susie super mom.

A few more oldies from The box.

Charlie

Blind contours. Something I haven't done for a while. You are suppose to keep your pen always on the page while looking only at whatever you are drawing.

Of course I had to color some of them. Jazz had big funny feet even though she was a tiny dog.

The jack Russell state. As in when are u going to play ball with me?

Jazz

Jazz

all of these are blind contours of Jazz.
They are just delightfully wonky sketches done in a minute or two.

Hmm well she did have very short legs and a really long body. Maybe she was a daschund disguised as a jack ,,.

Ttyl tomorrow's Saturday. You know what that means.
