Getting closer to the end now than the beginning. Lost another pound today. Bought some new clothes that fit for the moment. 

Drawn in a strathmore mixed media 500 journal with a Kuretake brush pen loaded with carbon platinum black ink. 

Oddly it’s much more permanent on the strathmore watercolor book. It occasionally smears a little on the mixed media. 

Colored with Winsor Newton watercolor markers and a few Tombows.

A Te Rex and ? 

But I couldn’t make it to life modeling. Hanging out with the grandkids which is always fun.  

White highlights drawn with a Caran d’ache Neocolor ii crayon. 

I drew this on the way home from school the other day. I don’t know what my fascination with trucks and earth lovers is BUT there it is. 

Ever since I drew those elephants and camels last week I have been obsessing over heavy equipment. Maybe it’s my grandsons influence. He loves them. Following that logic I guess I need to do a fire truck too. 

Once again I used Ted Nuttalls transparent palette plus cerulean for the sky. Maybe next time I will try Pthalo blue.

The highlights were done by adding a cad yellow medium to the green. 

It was sketched with my Noodler Konrad loaded with carbon platinum black ink both from Goulet pens.  

The paper is a Strathmore 400 watercolor sketchbook. The book does take watercolor well so it’s growing on me. And the paper is nice and heavy.

Next up was Mary Poppins.Twenty minutes. This was drawn in two parts. First we drew Jessica with her hand up. And then we added the umbrella. I did not leave enough room for the umbrella.

Another twenty minute sketch. And a contest. We had to draw what Mary had in her bag. I drew a spoonful of medicine and balloons. My Mary would not have anything scary in her bag except maybe those eyes under the bench. 

Jessica was a super model. She could hold a pose like a rock which is what you want when you are doing a life model. And her poses and costumes were lovely.

2 minute sketch

The month means it’s time for Dr Sketchys at Chat Noir in downtown Augusta. 

 2 minute sketch 

Our model Jessica was great!! 

This is actually the first of three two minute sketches. 

We started off with three or four two minute sketches. I was using my Kuretake brush pen with permanent Carbon Black ink in a superaquabee tablet. 

Captain America 10 minute sketch w Winsor Newton watercolor markers and a few Tombows. 

15 minute sketch w Winsor Newton watercolor markers and Tombows.  Both are water based and do great things when you use a water loaded brush on them line that nice brown on the eagles tail. 
Here’s the whole sketch. I didn’t have time to draw her chair. And the choice of a political slogan was unfortunate. 

Scribbled the first thing that came into my mind. Scary thought. 

She also has wink of Stella markers on her. Great glittery effects. I have a red one a black one and a gold one that I used. That’s what the gold on her shoes is.  

Anyway lots to color.

My friend Who told me to get off my diet because he was tired of food. 

I stopped at a Dollar store yesterday and when I pulled out there was a while huge field full of construction equipment and those silos and water towers. Pulled back into the parking lot and drew them. Well most of them. 

Drawn in a strathmore wc journal which I want to like but wish it was  their 500 mixed media paper. PEn is a Konrad Noodler with carbon platinum black ink.
